Catherine Pepper is a wise and trusted smart cities and sustainability leader with over 15 years’ industry experience in practical application of technology for stakeholder outcomes. She combines a passion for digital solution delivery with exceptional skills in the strategic management of built and natural environments from the individual property to the landscape scale. Catherine has held leadership roles in software start-up, consultancy and local government contexts and currently works as Smart Cities and Places Lead at GHD Digital. As a qualified planner and environmental engineer with a flair for management of technology projects to deliver liveability and sustainability outcomes, Catherine’s expertise includes climate change mitigation and adaptation, renewable energy, integrated water cycle management, resource recovery, environmental strategy, and environmental impact assessment and management. Prior to joining GHD Catherine was the leader of the Sustainable Living team at Lake Macquarie City Council, delivering strategy and capital works in climate change mitigation, energy and water efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.
