Catherine Murdoch

Catherine has had a career that spans environmental management, assessment, community development, consultation, regional planning, policy, and strategy, that began as a Landcare coordinator in rural NSW. After managing regional NRM organisations, Catherine went on to manage environmental outcomes within the water resources and construction sector.

Catherine is now working in a strategic role to develop initiatives to build stronger economic and social outcomes across Northern Tasmania. Catherine took the lead for the State Government in finalising the Launceston City Deal with the Federal Government and now co-ordinates the State’s implementation program for the City Deal which is aiming to establish Launceston as one of Australia’s most liveable and innovative regional cities. Catherine is responsible for developing collaborative regional smart cities initiatives and has oversight of the Smart Cities Initiatives funded under Round 1 of the Smart Cities and Suburbs Program.
