The Australian Smart Cities Awards were the nation’s first dedicated smart cities award scheme established to recognise and reward leadership, celebrate best practice and stimulate action to advance the smart cities movement.

The award categories include:

  • Built Environment.
  • Social Impact.
  • Research and Innovation.
  • Regional Leadership.
  • Smart City Policy
  • Smart City Partnerships
  • Smart City Organisation Transformation
  • Leadership City.
  • Smart Cities Leader – (Government, Industry and Emerging Leader).

The awards are judged by an independent jury, including:

  • Alicia McKay, Author, Facilitator and Coach – Alicia McKay NZ
  • Amanda Newbery, Founder and Managing Director – Articulous Communications
  • Chungha Cha, Co-Founder and Chair – Re-Imagining Cities Foundation, Seoul South Korea
  • Eamon Waterford, Deputy CEO and Policy Director – Committee for Sydney
  • Meredith Hodgman, Co-Founder and International Program Director – Women in Smart Cities Global
  • Wendy Pech, Program Director – Darwin Innovation Hub

The award winners will be announced and celebrated at the Smart Cities Week Australia Awards Reception, to be held in Sydney on Thursday 31st October, 6:00-8:00pm.
